Annual Meeting
Most of us lead busy lives, balancing work, family and countless daily responsibilities. While technology allows us to stay connected and accomplish tasks more efficiently, meaningful, in-person conversations still play an important role—especially when it comes to the organizations that serve our communities.
At Butler Electric Cooperative (Butler EC), the annual meeting is an important opportunity to connect directly with the members we serve. As a member-owned cooperative, Butler EC exists to provide safe, reliable and affordable energy, while also enriching the lives of our members and supporting the long-term vitality of our local communities.
The annual meeting is where members can learn more about the cooperative’s performance, priorities and future plans. Leadership shares updates on financial health, system improvements and upcoming initiatives, while also addressing challenges and opportunities facing the co-op. It is also when members participate in the cooperative’s democratic process by voting for the board of trustees—local individuals who represent the interests of the membership.
Equally important, the annual meeting provides a space for members to share their perspectives. Every member plays a role in shaping the future of Butler EC, and feedback helps guide decisions that impact service reliability, affordability and community investment.
Because Butler EC is locally owned, the success of the cooperative is closely tied to the well-being of the communities it serves. Revenue from members is reinvested back into the system and the local area, strengthening infrastructure and supporting long-term growth.
While many services today can be accessed digitally, opportunities to gather, ask questions and engage face-to-face remain valuable. The annual meeting reflects the cooperative spirit—bringing members together to stay informed, have a voice and help shape the future of their co-op.
