Applications for the 2026 youth programs are

Students selected must be a current junior at the time of application and shall have parents/guardians that reside in Butler’s service territory. Butler Electric will select two students to take an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. and Steamboat Springs, Colorado in the summer of 2026. In addition to choosing the trip of their choice, the winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The runner-up will be awarded the remaining trip and receive a $600 scholarship. An alternate will be selected and receive a $400 scholarship.
To apply, submit the following information electronically. In addition to the application, an on-site interview will be required, as well as an open book test. Butler Electric will select three winners for our youth program:
FIRST PLACE
The winner will have the opportunity to choose between two all-expenses-paid trips: a trip to Washington, D.C., as part of the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour or a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp, along with a $1000 scholarship.
SECOND PLACE
The second-place winner will receive the remaining trip not chosen by the first place winner, plus a $600 scholarship.
THIRD PLACE
The third-place winner will receive a $400 scholarship.
